A broad category of waste from medical, nursing, dental, veterinary, and pharmaceutical practices covered by Chapter 18 of the List of Wastes. Includes infectious clinical waste (18 01 03*), sharps, pharmaceutical waste, body parts, and non-infectious healthcare waste. The NHS manages approximately 156,000 tonnes of clinical waste annually using a 20-20-60 waste split: 20% highly infectious (yellow bag), 20% infectious (orange bag), and 60% offensive waste (tiger stripe bags).
